5 Must Visit Wineries in the Sacramento Region!
You do NOT have to drive to Napa for great wine! There are so many wonderful wineries just East of Sacramento in Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, and Amador Counties. In this blog, we stick to Placer and El Dorado counties. I personally, am not a huge wine connoisseur. I enjoy a glass of wine from time to time, but for me, it’s more about the venue and the scenery. Nothing like sitting outside on a comfortable, warm(ish) day with a glass of wine and good company. So, here are 5 wineries (and two bonus wineries) we recommend.
1. **Twin Rocks Estate Winery, Granite Bay**:
Nestled in the picturesque Granite Bay area, Twin Rocks Estate Winery offers a serene escape for wine enthusiasts. Surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful vineyards, this winery specializes in producing exquisite wines that capture the essence of the region. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely tasting experience, savoring the flavors of their carefully crafted varietals while taking in the stunning views. Twin Rocks has a food truck on site with wonderful food. You can plan your day of wine tasting knowing that you can have lunch here. Be sure to check in when arriving at Twin Rocks, as they prefer to seat you and your party to ensure the best customer service. NOTE: Children are not allowed at Twin Rocks, except for Sundays, when it’s “family day.”

Guests are invited to explore the expansive vineyards and elegant tasting room, where they can sample a diverse selection of wines, from crisp whites to bold reds. There are no real “views” of the land at Casque, but, nonetheless, it is inviting and intimate in their patio area. Right next door is the Flower Farm Cafe, where you can get a sandwich or salad. You cannot bring your wine over from Casque to the Cafe, nor can you bring any alcohol from the Cafe to the winery. They each have their own alcohol license, and they DO monitor this.
